As an only child, I often think about my mom living by herself. She lives in southern New Jersey while I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. As she ages (she is 84 now), I wonder if that distance will become a problem. I know that elderly people are very capable of living alone their entire lives, but I also know that I could make my mother’s life simpler if I were closer.
